"Let’s get into the looks, if we can even call them that—outfits feel a little more apropos. For context, it’s around 40-55 degrees in NY these days. My outings involve subway rides, coffees, and slipping into a crowded dining room with a girlfriend and sparkling water at the end of the night. I can’t change from one outfit to the next, so a lot of the time, my outfit has to last 12-16 hours. And the worst part? I have to carry my laptop most of the time. So you can forget seeing any tiny bags.
When I’m not running around, I’m working from my apartment where a degree of decorum keeps me on task. But I’m not committed enough to wear high waisted silk trousers to take a Zoom from my dining table. It’s a balance of comfort, feeling pulled together, and exercising my creative muscle in outfit assembly.
Getting dressed for dates is something I figured I’d be spending a lot more brain space on as a kid. Doesn’t that seem like the thing a 28 year old would do on a Saturday night? Stand in front of their closet pondering what outfit to pull?

Well, it happens semi infrequently over here, but tonight, my husband and I are set to our favorite restaurant in New York. I don’t want to discuss the new ownership—too soon—so instead, I’ll be sporting something a little sexy. Emphasis on little. My husband is pretty accustomed to us stepping out in matching menswear. A tuxedo jacket he couldn’t borrow? A real cause for celebration. I paired it down with boots and a simple bag. My favorite accessory has to be wavy, undone hair. Curls are great, but the texture I get from the Odele Texturizing Sea Salt Spray? That’s next level."
