Each repair is unique, and while we strive to restore as many garments as possible, some items may be irreparable. Before sending in your item, please review the details below.

Items We Cannot Repair:

Unfortunately, we are unable to repair the following:

  • Stains
  • Holes
  • Rips and tears
  • Peeling (We recommend using a fabric shaver for pilling and surface wear.)

Items That May Be Repairable:

Repairs are evaluated through photos before approval. Potentially repairable issues include:

  • Zippers (subject to availability of matching hardware)
  • Unraveling sweaters (case by case)
  • Buttons (We offer a DIY option: a replacement button will be included with your next order, or you may pay for shipping to receive it sooner.)
  • Hook and eye closures
  • Elastic button loops
  • Snap buttons (case by case)
  • Adjustable straps
  • Seam rips (case by case, depending on fabric condition)
  • Unraveling hems

To begin the repair process, follow these steps:

  • Ensure your garment is clean before sending it. Items received unwashed will be returned to you at your expense for cleaning.

  • Contact us with your order number and provide 2-4 detailed photos of the item and the area needing repair.

  • Repair Timeline: Our standard repair timeline is 2 to 5 weeks from the time we receive your item.

  • You cover the cost of shipping your item to our repair center.
  • Rue Sophie will cover the cost of return shipping back to you. (This service is available in the USA only.)

Limitations & Exceptions

  • We strive to restore each piece to its original integrity, using similar fabrics and hardware whenever available. If original materials are unavailable, we will use the closest possible match while preserving the garment’s aesthetic.

  • If we determine that your item cannot be repaired, you have the option to either have it returned to you or allow us to recycle it responsibly.

  • For button replacements: If you need a new button, we will include one in your next order if available. Alternatively, you may pay for shipping to receive it separately.
